System Application Programmer - Full Time
50 E. Puainako St., Hilo
Primary Purpose
Provide an adequate and responsive level of Information Technology support for the planning, development, testing, and implementation of an Information Technology project.
Qualifications
In order to fulfill the Essential Functions of the job, you MUST:

Have in-depth technical expertise and/or experience programming in higher level languages such as RPG, COBOL, IBM Control Language (CL), Visual Basic and/or C++, Java, and HTML.

Have working knowledge of binary and hexadecimal numbering systems.

Have at least one year experience in programming and/or system analyst.

Have prior computer operations experience.

Have prior experience in preparing user / system / operational documentational material.

Have good working knowledge of the following Operating Systems:
- Windows 98/NT/XP
- IBM AS/400 or iSeries OS/400
- Linux

Have good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office application programs:
- Excel
- Word
- Power Point
- Publisher
- Access

Have good understanding of the Ethernet LAN/WAN networking system.

Have good working knowledge of accounting and it's principles.

Be able to communicate effectively, be objective, organized, alert, and able to think logically.

Be able to meet the established deadlines and schedules and work with minimum supervision.

Be available for work Monday through Friday, occasionally on weekends, normally between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The following is PREFERRED, but not necessary:
-
AS/400 or iSeries experience using Screen Design Aide (SDA).

Experience working within a database environment (ie MS Access, dBASE IV, or Delphi).

Experience with Real-time / online (interactive) programming.
